I had a close guy friend once who revealed to me that when he was in Sec School, his Chinese teacher took a liking to him. She invited him to her home etc, giving him lessons outside the curriculum. THey started off by her teaching him some calligraphy. Then gradually, she apparently took erm... liberties with him. Shocked

I think that kinda scarred him. He was too scared and confused at that time to know what to do.

Teachers who take advantage of their charges in this manner, ought to be shot! Mad It's really not funny!

Yeah... I remember reading about this teacher who got into a forbidden relationship with one of his students.

And the girl got pregnant and had to have an abortion.

He justified his actions by saying that 'Not all teachers are saints' and that he has seen other teachers cheat on their spouses, flirt with their students, etc etc. Rolling Eyes

You know what? If you make statements like that as a college student in the States, your tutor can alert the school authorities about your disturbing thoughts and you can then be called up and sent for counselling!

Hell, sack all 'mercenary teachers' who are in the teaching profession solely for the money.... I've seen first hand the kind of damage these asswipes inflict on our kids.

I say that if you have no passion for teaching, then you should do Singapore a favour and stay out of the teaching profession.
